The Ilife V5S is a fantastic robot vacuum cleaner and mop combo that not only vacuums your floors but also comes with a water tank which is used to wash/mop your floors using a “damp mopping” technique which is pretty impressive. When we had the chance to play with this robot vacuum cleaner, we found it was very well built, visually it had a nice sleek design and one other thing that’s worth mentioning is it was quite quiet compared to other robotic vacuum cleaners which was always welcomed, the last thing you would want whilst relaxing on the couch watching a movie, is for your little cleaning friend to start up and make a racket around your living room or home.

So what can the Ilife V5S Robot Vacuum Cleaner do?
The Ilife V5S robotic/mop vacuum cleaner can pretty much do everything you would need or want it to do, it vacuums every floor type but can only mop hard floors, such as tile, laminate, wood, marble etc, because it doesn’t have water suction, you shouldn’t really be mopping your carpets, but who are we to say, if you wanted to, I suppose you could! But we wouldn’t recommend either.The V5S automatically docks to its’ charging base when it’s running low on battery which is clever, some other robot vacs require you to charge them but this ruins the novelty of owning a “robot vacuum cleaner” wouldn’t you think?
The ilife V5S has a front sensor and bumper which enables this vacuum cleaner to avoid bumping into things and at times as we noticed, it sometimes accidentally would bump into a chair leg but because of the front bumper, there was no damage and it just reversed and carried on cleaning but we found the sensor to be very reliable in terms of navigating around our obstacle course!
The Anti-Drop sensors on the V5S were outstanding, we tested it on various drops, such as stairs, table tops and even our decking outside, not once did it fall off the side, they accomplish this by using sensors that span around the underside of the vacuum cleaner making it very reliable at stopping this little vacuum from plummeting to its doom!
There are four vacuum cleaning modes, this is very important as it gives you more control over what type of cleaning is required or necessary, these are; Auto-Clean, Spot-Cleaning, Edge-Clean (cleaning alone walls, base boards and focuses on corners) and a scheduling cleaning presets, the preset feature allows you to set up a hands off cleaning schedule so it automatically starts to vacuum or mop the floors, this is very cool as you can set the time when you’re out of the house so you come back to a fresh floor every single day.
The height of the ilife v5s vacuum has been designed to be slim (only 76mm from base to top) this is to allow the vacuum cleaner to get under most furniture, think couches, if you have a couch that has feet, this vacuum cleaner will be able to go underneath and do its’ job.
